Ecuador Extinguishers

A fire extinguisher, fire extinguisher or fire extinguisher is a device used to extinguish fires. It consists of a metal container (steel cylinder or cylinder) containing a fire extinguishing agent under pressure, so that by opening a valve the agent goes through a hose that should be directed to the base of the fire. They usually have a device to prevent accidental activated, which must be disabled before using the appliance.

More specifically a fire extinguisher could be defined as an autonomous unit, designed as a cylinder, which can be moved by one person and using a drive mechanism of a gas under pressure or mechanical pressure, releases the extinguishing agent to the base fire, to get it away.

According to the extinguishing agent can distinguish between:

Water extinguishers (charged with water or a foaming agent, the latter no longer in use by its low efficiency).
Dry chemical extinguishers (MFP: ABC-class fire fighting)
CO2 extinguishers (also known as dry ice or carbon dioxide) Class BC fires.
Metal fire extinguishers (only valid for combustible metals like sodium, potassium, magnesium, titanium, etc.)
Halon fire extinguishers (halogenated hydrocarbon, now banned worldwide by affecting the ozone layer and have permission to use until 2010.
Instant Multiextintor (before explosion extinguisher) is a Fire Rescue tool for professional use, consisting of an elastomer cup containing a flame retardant, and contains within it a pyrotechnic element attached to an igniter cord. Which, in contact with fire, breaking the container and creates a bubble devoid of oxygen that the fire goes out, while cooling the area within a radius of about five meters.

Because of their size of extinguishers are divided into portable and mobile. Portable fire extinguishers would be those with a weight of 20 kg in total, considering, in turn, between the same hand portable fire extinguishers up to 20 kg and portable fire extinguishers ridges up to 30 kg.

When a fire extinguisher weighing over 30 kg is considered to be mobile and have wheels to be moved.

This does not preclude that there are fire extinguishers placed on wheels and therefore mobilized weighs less than 30 kg. In fact, to facilitate handling, 50 kg extinguishers are typically installed on wheels.

The division has to do with the maximum allowed for use in one form or another, ie, a fire extinguisher weighing over 20 kg necessarily have to have a back support.

The problem of fire extinguishers (except in the very large) is that the agent is depleted quickly, so that their use should be taking full advantage. Its continuous discharge time is 18 to 20 seconds.
Also distinguished by the fires that are able to shut down: electrical origin, caused by or arising from liquid fuels from solid fuels, depending on the extinguishing agent they contain. The opportunities should come so conspicuously written on the label, considering the kind of standard fire. Can serve several classes.

They come in many sizes and types, from very small, usually carried in the cars to go on a large wheeled cart. The content ranges from 1 to 250 kg of medium.
